Position Summary:

The Program and Volunteer Coordinator plays a critical role in assisting with the growth of the Roaring Fork Valley district by promoting Junior Achievement’s K-12 programs and stewardship of our volunteer and educator relationships in the region. This position also supports the Colorado Springs Office through outreach and database management, as well as special events and development initiatives throughout the year.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Field and track all public inquiries and forward on to the appropriate department
  • Follow up on new volunteer inquiries and track progress through the volunteer life cycle
  • Work together with District Manager to match volunteers with a classroom
  • Work with District Manager to establish a volunteer recruitment, training, retention and recognition plan to ensure all requested classes are filled each semester
  • Communicate with volunteers and teachers/school administrators via email and phone calls with a customer service mind-set; track communications through database system
  • Follow up with current volunteers regarding curriculum questions, assignments and general inquiries
  • Support Education department with logistics and execution of all trainings and programs
  • Compile volunteer and educator survey responses to identify feedback trends and program needs
  • Assist in set up and tear down of JA in a Day events
  • Assist with all local program evaluation efforts to include data collection, administration and aggregation
  • Inventory and maintenance of kits.  Unloading of kits when they arrive.  Ensure kits are correctly marked for appropriate sponsors. Review and organization of returned kits – full or partial.  Ordering kits with approval of Director of Program Strategy and Partnerships             
  • Attend volunteer fairs and public events on behalf of Junior Achievement


Qualifications and Requirements:

•            Excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), problem solving, listening, and interpersonal skills

•            Eye for detail and consistent follow-through

•            Able to multitask and work well with time constraints; some flexibility with work hours

•            Willingness and flexibility to learn new procedures and ask questions as needed

•            Displays a positive attitude, works well with others, and accepts direction well

•            Valid driver’s license and car insurance with reliable transportation

•            Must be willing to complete and able to pass background check

•            Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally


Salary and benefits:

This is a part-time, non-exempt hourly position starting at $20 per hour depending on experience.
