Celebrate Business and Individual Achievements at the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association’s 1980s Prom Party Annual Gala on February 4
Bright colors, puffy sleeves, bubble skirts, lace ruffles, giant bows, sequin and of course… big hair. The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association is rewinding the clock four decades on Saturday, February 4 from 6-9 p.m. as we celebrate the Annual Gala – 1980s prom-style – at the Hotel Colorado. The event is presented by Alpine Bank.
A DJ will be on hand to play all your favorite 80s nostalgia songs. Brush up on your talents including lip-syncing, air-guitar, moonwalking and solving Rubik’s cubes for a chance to win totally rad prizes – like a Magic 8 Ball. Prizes will also be given for the best 80s prom garb. If you’d rather leave the 80s style in the 80s, regular cocktail attire is perfectly acceptable.
While we aim to make the Annual Gala a fun evening for all and add some brightness to a cold and dark winter evening, the heart and purpose of the event is to gather, connect and celebrate the achievements of business and individuals over the past year.
The Top Brass Outstanding Business of the Year award will recognize one outstanding business of the year for a major contribution that reflects commercial growth, creativity or community involvement. Gould Construction was last year’s recipient.
The Top Brass New Business of the Year will recognize an outstanding business in operation for less than three years. The 2021 recipient of this award was Johnston | Van Arsdale | Martin (JVAM).
Businesses or professionals marking career milestones will earn Top Brass anniversary certificates.
The final award of the evening will be the 2022 Citizen of the Year, which is given in the name of Dean Vogelaar - a longtime chamber director and the award’s first recipient. The award is intended to honor an individual (or in some instances a married couple) who makes a substantial contribution to Glenwood Springs. As a result of the recipient’s efforts, the community should have received notable benefits and become a better place to live and work. Last year’s recipient of this prestigious award was Michael Picore.
The cocktail-style reception also includes heavy appetizers, drinks, a silent auction and a photo booth. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit glenwoodchamber.com or call 970-945-6589.
