Ride for the Pass 2026 is a beloved early-season cycling event that gives riders a rare opportunity to climb Independence Pass before it opens to vehicle traffic. Held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, the ride starts at the winter gate outside Aspen and offers both a timed 10-mile climb to the historic Independence ghost town and a shorter, family-friendly option to Weller Lake.
