Hourly Pay: $30-45/hour (DOE)

The Role:

The Lead Power Gen Service Technician is a senior-level position responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing power systems at customer sites throughout the region. Like our Service Technicians, the Lead spends most of the time in the field at both on- and off-grid locations, completing scheduled service and break-fix work. What sets this role apart is depth of expertise and leadership: 

● Acts as the go-to resource for technicians troubleshooting complex issues.
● Performs advanced diagnostics, repairs, and warranty service.
● Mentors and trains newer technicians in the field.
● Helps ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
● Serves as a technical escalation point for the service team while maintaining clear communication with clients, dispatch, and the Service Manager. 

This role requires significant experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance hands-on fieldwork with regular team communication.  

Key Responsibilities:

● Travel to customer sites to diagnose, maintain, and repair power gen systems.
● Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and load testing.
● Complete warranty service and repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines.
● Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and system performance issues.
● Document all work performed, including service notes and photos.
● Provide exceptional customer service and clear communication during site visits.
● Support and mentor technicians in troubleshooting and diagnostics.
● Maintain compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. 

Qualifications:

● High school diploma or equivalent.
● 5+ years technical, electrical, and mechanical experience preferred.
● Advanced knowledge of generators.
● Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
● Ability to mentor, train, and support other technicians in the field.
● Proven decision-making ability under pressure.
● Excellent customer service and communication skills.
● Strong organizational skills to balance fieldwork and team support.
● Competence with service documentation, reporting, and digital tools.
● Basic understanding of electrical circuits.
● Physical ability to perform fieldwork (lifting, climbing, working outdoors).
● Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and background check required.
