The Heart and Vascular Center at Valley View is pleased to welcome Leo Simpson, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FHRS, a board-certified interventional and heart failure cardiologist, to the team. Dr. Simpson specializes in interventional and structural cardiology with specific interest in advanced heart failure, left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and cardiac transplant.

Dr. Simpson brings expertise in percutaneously inserted left ventricular and biventricular mechanical circulatory support. In addition, he specializes in percutaneous patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure, percutaneous atrial septal defect (ASD) closure, TAVR and MitraClip, a less-invasive treatment option for certain people with aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation, who are not suitable or are high risk candidates for open heart surgery.

The Heart & Vascular Center’s team is the most experienced group of cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, and cardiothoracic surgeons on Colorado’s Western Slope. It remains the only program providing 24/7/365 cardiovascular care along the I-70 corridor.
